Remember in high school when you put your book reports about such great classics like Romeo and Juliet, To Kill a Mocking Bird and Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl into those folders with clear covers? Yea you know what I'm talking about. Those crispy ass folders made your shitty ass papers go from a D to a C- for sure. Well i found some today and am gonna make some zines using them to bind the prints. All are editions of 1 and unique. And just like in high school there gonna be printed on Mom's printer. Wacom recently released a new style pen that allows you to draw on paper while a small receiver clips onto the edge of your sketchbook and records a digital file. The Inkling. It's cordless and pressure sensitive. You freehand as you normally would, then the receiver plugs into your usb giving you a digital file that can be drug into PS or Illustrator. WTF!! This seems like the perfect tool to tweak my designs as vector shapes.

Miserably hungover, I'd buried myself at the bottom of my sleeping bag squeezing my eyes shut. Outside my tent I heard my friends around the crackling fire. As I surfaced for air I realized the tent was swelling, inhaling and exhaling with my body. A shit eating grin must've stretched across my face before I even realized the music. I was completely overcome with excitement. I scrambled to my feet and rushed outside. The trees were bursting with sound. It echoed so loud. Waves of blue leaves and brush came washing to my feet. The forest came rushing toward me from every direction and I was the center of the universe.

It's SUCH an exciting time for the graphic novel. I can't get enough of them, thanks to my relentless commute to and from work. Authors and illustrators are pushing comics in all sorts of new directions as they've evolved far from your typical super hero fantasies. Tom Neely's The Wolf recently came out and it's unlike anything I've ever seen. Having designed artwork for bands like The Melvins, Wolves in the Throne Room and ISIS, The Wolf promises to satisfy those who've got a gruesome itch to scratch. The story's told solely through his imagery.

He'll be signing fresh copies at The Escapist comic book store this Thursday the 22nd
